Happy Worm
2014.
Designing educational tools for children with a theme centered around movement and sound.

Designed in collaboration with Arik Levy, this educational toy for toddlers focuses on movement and sound. Themed around a caterpillar and a house, the blocks form a caterpillar and a house when connected in block shapes. Even with various transformations, the ball moves along the track, creating a caterpillar.

In the Happy Worm analytical design phase, we built a physics-based simulation to verify that the ball can reliably travel along the rail path and reach the final endpoint. The model reproduces the rail geometry and key motion conditions such as gravity-driven rolling, contact behavior, and speed changes so we can evaluate stability, identify sections where the ball may slow down or deviate, and iterate the rail form and transitions. This simulation-driven validation ensures the overall rail system performs consistently from start to finish before prototyping.
